My macro image of a cyclamen flower, Pink Swirls, has received a Highly Commended award in the 2013 International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. The standard of the entries this year was, I think, the highest yet with photographers from all over the world taking part. Philip Smith, IGPOTY Project Director said "It has been another fascinating competition with a greater range of diverse images than we have seen before and very worthy winners”.
The Royal Horticultural Society have recently announced the results of their photographic competition. With over 8,000 entries, from all over the world, I’m delighted to say that my image, Abstract Tulip, merited a Highly Commended award in the abstract and details category.
Once again, all three Images I entered into the Joe Cornish Summer Photography Open Exhibition were accepted. Whilst I didn’t win an award this year, my unique, vibrant approach to floral images shone amongst some superb images of landscapes, wildlife and people. All the photographs were of an exceptionally high standard which makes having all three images shown a great honour. Congratulations to the winning photographers and to all those who took part.
The exhibition runs from June 23rd until July 21st
I have just returned from a week on the stunningly beautiful Northumberland coast where the early morning and late evening light was absolutely sublime lending itself to the landscape photographer. Probably the best I’ve seen up there. I had a fantastic time and was truly in my element photographing this amazing coastline. All I have to do now is find the time to process my endeavours. The first ones can be found in the latest gallery, stay tuned for more!
I’ve just found out the my Mill Gill Force, Bluebells & Bracken and Phormium images have received the Bronze Portfolio Award at the Joe Cornish Galleries Photography Summer Open Exhibition. To have just one image accepted for the exhibition would have been good news but to win an award is fantastic.
I’m very pleased to say that one of my images, Two Hearts, received a Highly Commended Award in the 2011
